Accused of unhealthy interference in the management of the MPCE
The union of the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation denounces, in an open letter published on April 12, 2019, « the unhealthy interference » of parliamentarians in the management of this box. The names of Deputies Ghandy Dorfeuille, Isaiah Prophet and Senators Rony Celestin and Willot Joseph are named.
They are accused of pressuring senior officials to demand benefits, to pass projects and to install employees without any respect for the laws governing the central state administration and the civil service.
« The union considers it scandalous that members and senators arrogate to themselves the right to interfere in the administrative affairs of the MPCE. Nothing can justify these actions except greed, ignorance and the failure of the state apparatus, added to a desire to bury the country of advantage in underdevelopment, « argue the protesters .
Concerned about the attitude of these lawyers, the union reminds that according to article 1 of the decree of February 2016 on its organization, the MPCE is responsible for leading, animating and leading the process of economic development planning and social, to mobilize external resources and coordinate them through the different sectoral structures in support of the national development effort.
The ministry’s union is asking these deputies and senators to stop any interference in the institutional life of the ministry.
